I’ll just go ahead and say it how it is: I love this jacket.
I’ve never owned something as fashion-forward as, say, a rainbow sequin sheer bomber jacket. But there’s a first time for everything. And this crazy-cool jacket just spoke to me like no other garment has. It all started at the Clover Canyon sample sale a few weeks back, where I was digging through a box of (practically) half-a-million mismatched bikini tops and bottoms, when low and behold this little gem appeared in the bin. The second I picked it up, I knew it was something special. And $30 later, this once-$395 piece was all mine.
After getting home, however, I worried. This bomber was like nothing else in my closet, and I feared looking more like a character in a kids cartoon special than an it-girl. But after pairing it with a nice neutral base and some coordinating (and equally colorful) accessories, my fear of being mistaken for Rainbow Brite waned, and I felt like the cool girl who should be wearing this jacket.
With my trusty Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses in tow, I tied on a simple black chocker (it’s a actually just a ribbon, mind you) and paired it with a black Brandy Melville crop top. My staple black James Jeans cigarette pants provided the perfect bottom, and as for shoes, well, I just couldn’t decide. At first, I tried out a funky Ivanka Trump orange studded pair of wedges. But then, I just couldn’t help myself from swapping them out for some sexy cobalt Steve Madden sandal heels. Which pair was better? You’ll have to be the judge of that.
Regardless of the shoes, this is certain: this over-the-top jacket is the real MVP here.
